College Assessment Committees

Each college has a unique way to select and administrate their assessment committees. Details for each are provided below.

COLLEGE OF AVIATION, SCIENCE, AND TECHNOLOGY

The committee is composed of full-time and half-time faculty members, as appointed after a collaborative evaluation process overseen by the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Committee and the Graduate Affairs Committee. Each program in the College is represented, and each member has one vote.  Each member is appointed to a three (3) year term, with appointments communicated to the Faculty Affairs Committee for recordkeeping purposes. Terms shall be staggered so that a proportionate number of seats is up for appointment each year. Re-appointments are permissible. Terms of office begin on June 1.

  1. A chair is selected by the voting committee members no later than June 1 and serves for one year.
    1. The chair will then serve on the University Assessment Committee.
  2. Voting guidelines:
    1. In the event of a tie during voting, the chair of the University Assessment Committee will cast the deciding vote.
  3. Functions of this committee include, but are not limited to:
    1. Ensuring meaningful mapping of program SLOs to the Baccalaureate Characteristics and/or Graduate Student Learning Outcomes.
    2. Collecting and reviewing annual program assessments (to be summarized and included in the Dean’s Report each year).
    3. Program review and accreditation.
